"ladies and gentlemen, please prepare for takeoff"

Hello everyone! I am currently writing this blog post from my favourite city in the world, San Francisco. I landed late last night, and it was probably the longest day of travelling ever. I spent 7 hours at the airport waiting between flights and 5 hours in the air. Can you say, "absolutely freakin' exhausting"?

It feels good to be back in this city, and i'm LOVIN' this weather (it's averaging around 18 degrees C). I'll be here for the next week. I'm getting ready to do some major shopping, ride some cable cars, and watch the walruses at the pier.

Oh, and Merry Christmas (I almost completely just blanked that it is currently Christmas day)! If you don't celebrate then I hope you are having a wonderful holiday nonetheless. Cheers!

Best,

a girl can dream...

Happy xmas eve, everyone! I thought i'd kick this evening off with my xmas wishlist. Now obviously I would NEVER EVER EVER expect to receive all of this stuff but it's always fun to create a wishlist regardless if it's realistic or not. So here are a few luxury items I have had my eyes on.

So how 'bout I draw your attention to the most obviously expensive and unrealistic item in my wishlist: the Cartier Love Bracelet (yellow gold/I also really like the white gold, $6000something?). Ain't it a beauty? My future hubby will buy it for me, you'll see. The other jewelry item i'm lusting after is the Tiffany Bead Bracelet (sterling silver, $220). I've been wanting this bracelet since highschool and I have yet to get my hands on it. I'll probably end up buying it for myself for my 20th birthday this april (yes, i'm turning 20. yes, i'm terrified).

The fujifilm polaroid camera (white, $100) - there's just something about polaroids that makes them so cool. And the Lorac Pro Palette. Did you guys know that Sephora has stopped selling this palette? - I did not, but I do now. I'm on the hunt for it and I will not stop until it is in my hands.

What girl doesn't need a watch? I must say, this Marc Jacobs watch is quite the beauty. I tend to wear gold jewelry more than silver which is why I opted for a gold watch. I think gold suits my skintone more.

No joke, I really want this Marc Jacobs bag. Mark my words, the next bag I purchase WILL be this bag. And of course, I gotta get a cute wallet to put in the bag. I just think the Kate Spade Lacey Wallet is super cute. Hot pink = yes.

And how 'bout we finish this wishlist off with a couple of my more "cheaper" wishes. First, i'm obsessed with mercury metal - I think it's gorgeous. This mercury candle is such a pretty room decoration piece! And lastly, nail polish. I've actually never tried Deborah Lippman nail polishes before but this nude set is adorable. You can never have too many nudes!

So there ya go, my ultimate xmas wishlist. Maybe I gave you some ideas? ;)

2013

Holy crap, 2013 is over. Didn't 2012 JUST end?! And doesn't 2014 just sound like an odd year? But you know what year is going to be REALLY weird? 2020. But let's not get ahead of ourselves.

I've put together a collage of some of my most memorable moments. But to be honest, a lot of my favourite memories from this year were not captured on camera. The moments that I was too busy having fun to stop and take a picture - gotta love those moments.

Looking back at this year, a lot has happened. I know that's really typical to say, but really though! This was the year I lived on my own for the first time (and survived!). This was the year I realized where I want to take my life. And this was the year I met more people than I ever have in my entire life. I mean seriously. I've met more people made more friends in 2013 than I have in the last 5 years combined. Yay for friends!

Let's give 2013 a big round of applause. What a great year it was. Let's try for another, shall we?
Cheers to 2013 and to an even better 2014!

moodboard (1) // holiday festivities!

"When you say you love me, know I love you more. And when you say you need me, know I need you more."

Introducing my very first moodboard! I've put together a mini-collage of some of the things I've been coveting/lusting after. With only a few days left until Christmas, I've certainly been in the holiday spirit - hence the theme for this moodboard.

One of my favourite things to do for the colder months is to burn candles. This particular candle was found on pinterest. It's a very easy DIY. All you do is simply put some pine tree leaves and holiday berries in an empty mason jar, put a tea light on the top, and tie a bow around the jar - et voila!

I'm puking over how beautiful 'Adore You' by Miley Cyrus is. It's been on repeat all day long (in fact, it's currently playing as i'm writing this blog post). Hands down, the best song in the album.

Bows bows bows. They are some of my favourite accessories. I highly recommend the bows from American Apparel (so many colour selections and sizes). I love pairing my bows with a nice pair of studs, but how adorbs are these reindeer ones? I'd probably be guilty of wearing them year round, haha.

Yes, I am a nail polish addict. I'm usually not a glitter gal but the holiday's are an exception. I've been hearing so many good things about Formula X polishes for a while now so I included a couple shades i've been wanting.

And of course, red lips are mandatory for me during the holidays. This Hourglass Liquid Lipstick (shade: icon) has been on my wishlist for so long. Since it's a stain, it won't budge through those long holiday parties = MUST HAVE!

And that concludes my first moodboard. Hope y'all enjoyed and look out for more in the near future!

FOTD // keepin' it natural

haha, i'm still wearing my attractive fuzzy polka dot robe
For today's "face" I decided to keep it au naturel. This is my "no fuss, no muss, check out my soft and glowy skin" face. So let's talk products!

1. Wet n Wild Eyebrow Liner (mink brown), any drugstore: I cannot express to you how frustrating it is to have super sparse-looking brows. It's the ultimate curse. Throughout the years I have dabbled with multiple brow products and by far this Wet n Wild brow liner surpasses them all (even the super expensive ones). It looks the most natural on me, it's super cheap, and it lasts for ETERNITY. The only thing i'm still trying to figure out is it's staying power (it starts to fade at the 4 hour mark), but I shall keep you guys posted on that.

2. L'Oreal Voluminous False Fibre Lashes Waterproof (blackest black), any drugstore: Oh man, the love that I have for this mascara is almost frightening. You can't tell in the photo (curse my short lashes!), but I promise they are more visible in person!

3. Stila Smudge-Stick Waterproof Eyeliner (lionfish), Sephora: I bought a set of these Stila eyeliners a while ago and they are so bomb. Lionfish is my personal favourite. It truly does what the name suggests - It's so soft and smudge-able but once it's dried it stays put all day!

4. Urban Decay NAKED Palette, Sephora: One look at this palette and you can tell that it's received a lot of love. This palette never fails me. A staple in any girl's collection.

5. L'Oreal Magic Soufflé Foundation (sand beige), most drugstore: This is probably the most natural and light-weight foundation I own - it looks and feels like my own skin. Today I decided to use it as a concealer to cover up all my hyper-pigmentation, and it worked really well.

6. Maybelline FITME Powder Foundation (215 soft honey), any drugstore: This powder foundation is the finishing touch and perfectly sets my concealer. I also enjoy using it as a blotting powder throughout the day.

7. Buxum Divine Goddess Luminizer, Sephora: I got this highlighter as a sample almost a year ago and I've been using it religiously. It gives my skin the fresh-looking glow it needs, especially during dry Canadian winters. The best thing about this product is that it has a cooling effect, which feels awesome when I put it on in the mornings. Definitely purchasing the full size when I run out of the sample (which is HUGE btw).

8. Smith's Lip Balm (minted rose), American Apparel & Sephora: Last, but not least. This is legit my favourite lip balm of all time. I'm debating getting 2 more so I can put one in my bag and one on my nighstand. I cannot recommend this more - TRY IT, PLEASE!

Let me know what your daily staples are!
